Færder National Park

Færder National Park is a predominantly marine protected area located in Færder Municipality in Vestfold county, southeastern Norway. Established on 23 August 2013, it encompasses a sprawling archipelago of islands, coastal waters, and rugged shoreline to the east of the larger islands of Nøtterøy and Tjøme. The park covers approximately 340 square kilometers, with the vast majority—325 square kilometers—being marine waters and only 15 square kilometers being terrestrial land. This makes Færder one of Norway's more water-centric national parks, protecting not only the islands themselves but the surrounding sea ecosystem that defines the region's character. The park borders Ytre Hvaler National Park to the east, creating a contiguous protected coastal corridor along Norway's southern coastline.

Distance methodology

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
