Yellomundee Regional Park

Yellomundee Regional Park is a protected regional park on the eastern escarpment of the Blue Mountains region in New South Wales, Australia. It sits west of the Nepean River and stretches roughly 8.6 kilometres from Yarramundi in the north down to Mount Riverview and Emu Heights in the south, lying about 30 kilometres north-west of Penrith and 25 kilometres south-west of Richmond. The park preserves a substantial belt of natural bushland along the Great Dividing Range's eastern edge, with only about one fifth of its land having been modified by past human activity. Its setting combines sandstone escarpment country, alluvial flats, and riverine vegetation along the Nepean River corridor, making it an important piece of connected bushland between the denser Blue Mountains wilderness and the growing urban areas of western Sydney. Yellomundee is managed by the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service and is classified as an IUCN Category V protected landscape. It serves as a regional-scale recreational reserve as well as a conservation link, offering bushwalking, mountain biking, and horse riding tracks while protecting remnant plant communities and several cultural and historical sites.
