Dniester Canyon National Nature Park

Dniester Canyon National Nature Park is a protected area in western Ukraine that follows the course of the Dniester River through one of the country's most dramatic geological landscapes. Established in 2010, the park encompasses approximately 10,829 hectares along a 100-kilometer stretch of the canyon, which is the largest canyon in Ukraine and among the most significant in Europe. The park protects a relatively undeveloped portion of the Ukrainian forest-steppe landscape, situated about 75 kilometers east of the Carpathian Mountains in Ternopil Oblast. The canyon features exceptional geological diversity, with dramatic cliff walls, deep river gorges, and an extraordinary concentration of caves carved into travertine rock, including two of the longest cave systems in the world.
