Bikin National Park

Bikin National Park is a large protected natural area in the Pozharsky district of Primorsky Krai in the Russian Far East, lying on the western macroslope of the Sikhote-Alin mountain range. The park stretches from the valley floor of the Bikin River up through rugged forested terrain, forming a continuous belt of wilderness that is among the last strongholds of the Amur, or Siberian, tiger. Beyond its role as a tiger refugium, the park is significant for its exceptionally rich mix of northern and southern plant species, a feature shaped by the transitional climate of central Sikhote-Alin. Cedar, birch, ash, and nut-bearing trees mingle with ginseng, eleutherococcus, rhododendron, and actinidia, producing a diverse understory that supports a wide range of wildlife. Culturally, the territory has long been home to the Udege and Nanai peoples, whose traditional livelihoods of hunting, fishing, and gathering remain tied to this forest landscape. The park was established in 2015 and, in 2018, became part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Central Sikhote-Alin, recognizing both its natural and cultural value.

Geographic measurements, not driving distances

How nearby park distances are calculated

Distances use park boundaries whenever the available geometry allows it. When one or both boundaries are missing, the mapped park locations provide a clearly labelled estimate. Every value represents straight-line geographic separation and does not use roads or routing.

Boundary distance

Calculated between the nearest points of both park boundaries.

Location-to-boundary estimate

Estimated from one mapped park location to the nearest boundary of the other park.

Mapped-location estimate

Estimated between the mapped locations of both parks.
