Satchari National Park

Satchari National Park is a protected area in northeastern Bangladesh, established in 2005 under the 1974 Wild Life Preservation Act. The park covers 243 hectares of forested terrain in the Raghunandan hills within Chunarughat Upazila of Habiganj District, part of the Sylhet region. The park's name derives from the Bengali words 'sat' (seven) and 'chari' (streams), reflecting the seven watercourses that flow through its jungle landscape. Located approximately 130 kilometers from the capital Dhaka, Satchari represents one of Bangladesh's smaller but ecologically significant national parks, characterized by its hilly terrain, tropical forest ecosystems, and notable primate populations. The area is surrounded by nine tea gardens, with Satchari tea garden to the west and Chaklapunji tea garden to the east, creating a mosaic of cultivated and protected landscapes.
