Ramsagar National Park

Ramsagar National Park is a protected wetland area in the northwest of Bangladesh, situated near the town of Dinajpur in Dinajpur District. The park is centered around Ramsagar, a large artificial lake excavated in the 18th century by Raja Ramnath, the Maharaja of Dinajpur, whose name the reservoir bears. Covering approximately 27.75 hectares, the park was officially declared a national park on 30 April 2001 under the Bangladesh wildlife (Preservation) Amendment Act, though it had existed as a protected sanctuary since 1960.
