The park protects the highest mountain range in Đắk Nông province and serves as a critical ecological corridor between the South Central Highlands and the Southeast region of Vietnam. The landscape is characterized by rugged peaks, dense upland seasonal tropical forests, and the expansive Tà Đùng Lake, an artificial reservoir created by the Dong Nai River damming that has produced over 36 islands, earning the area comparisons to Ha Long Bay.
